On Wednesday we will go for the first time with a 2-tank boat dive, or: 2 dives in the morning. There are 14 divers and 1 guide, so we conclude immediately that we ourselves are going to guides for all together in a bunch swimming is not our way of diving. We must at 8.30 am at the dive to 9 o'clock to sail. We discover only now that breakfast is only served from 8 am and we also discover that they take time in this very precise. Really punctually at 8 o'clock is the sign "closed" for our restaurant removed, while there is certainly already 20 people waiting with us .... We take a quick breakfast and just before 8.30 am we are at the dive. We throw our stuff in an Ikea bag and almost immediately we leave the boat. Well, the rest, because Juriaan first decision at ease to put on his suit in the shower on the dive and has completely missed the caravan with divers and equipment is already on its way to the jetty and the boat. On the boat we must first set up our Nitrox and 2 bottles per person analyze and eventually sail as late at 9 hours.
During the trip to the first dive site, about an hour, we already get a briefing that the directory does into 2 parts: 1 German briefing for the 6 Germans on board and then the English briefing for the 6 Englishmen and us. The guide tells the dive site where we go only a year ago was "discovered" the captain of our boat had befriended fishermen heard of many fish sat on this spot in the atoll and based on the GPS we find after one hour dive site from the surface of anything recognizable. But if we step into the water we see about 5 meters below us a coral reef on top of an underwater hill. We delve into our own pace, and thus increasing distance from the rest of the group, along the beautiful and healthy coral. According to the stories, the Maldives firmly suffered from El Nino, but there you see here in any case nothing back. After an hour we find the group above the coral on the top of the hill which is in the sunlight that falls through the water really is stunningly beautiful.
After the dive we get banana cake, pieces of coconut, coffee and tea and sail back to our own island Kuredu we at the back (and thus outside of the atoll) to make our next dive. As we sail along our island we see 2 snorkelers a long way from the coast and above a deep stretch of sea between our island and the neighboring island waving to us. The crew of our boat is directly in the maximum state of alert: this is too far from shore for snorkelers and between the islands of an atoll is often strong currents. We return to the snorkelers to pick up. At first the German would not imagine snorkeling come aboard, they do think back to swim. But we see from above that great and that can flow when you lies on the surface do not always feel. And we also see that the snorkelers have not fins so anyway not be able to swim fast and far they have the staff on board and we put them on the jetty of the island. The detour to the jetty will cost us 20 minutes but then we are on our way to our 2 dive of the morning, although it was already 12.30 pm. The second dive site is the wall on the outside of our island to a plateau at 30 meters depth and then goes a little further down to 1400 meters. The dive site is a favorite spot for turtles and we see in our hours of underwater there dozens!
When we come back on the island is 14 hours and had the all inclusive guests have lunch because the stress is only until 14:30, so they must hurry. We now know from experience that they are at dinner, that is to 21.30, even though they start at 21 hours with clean up and cover the tables for breakfast. So at lunch that will be no different. We make it easy for us half board arrangementje we must pay for lunch anyway, so they can choose other restaurants that are open longer than 14.30 hrs. After a shower we walk to Franco's, a great lunch spot next to the pool. After lunch Juriaan an hour sleep and Marije read her first book and around 17 hours we are back at the diving school to join another end-of-the-afternoon dive on the reef to make.
After we (again
) Have showered we drink a beer in the bar and then go eat. Again, the staff begins to clean up all the tent and cover for breakfast while we sit in our main course. If we walk out the restaurant is just starting a movie made by the dive in one of the bars through which we walk and we are still a beer hanging to the underwater world around Kuredu on film.
Also Thursday morning we have been up early and we are just before 8 am for breakfast, where we have to wait until exactly 8 hours before we enter. With some fruit and an omelet in the stomach we leave again for a 2 tank boat dive. The first dive we make is a "typical Maldives dive site" according to our guide. The dive site is called Fushivaru Kandu: a channel between 2 islands where the Indian Ocean through the narrow opening presses and therefore often considerable current. Well that movement was not a word lied. We finned over half an hour at full power across the reef and will hardly move. But that's not an issue because the beasts are us, against the current, responds: white tip reef sharks, gray reef sharks and eagle rays! Through their hard work under water and the relatively large depth (almost constant at around 25 meters) we have after 40 minutes up because Juriaan than its surrounding air is. But it was a dive, and a fine for Juriaans 450 e!
We come on the boat and sail to breath calmly to the 2 nd dive site in the morning and go after an hour in the water and now have a relaxed dive, great change after the first dive. We have already started in a rhythm and once again we have lunch and a shower after the dive, lie an hour on the beach bed for our house and then make a third dive in pairs from the house reef. This time we arrive at the wreck on the reef at an Eagle Ray and we take great time. This time we dive into the pool after the seawater that is really very hot. The sea water is 31 degrees, which in our 5 mm suits very hot, but the pool is definitely a few degrees warmer. It begins when we are in the pool a little rain and when we emerge from the water we take the last 2 bar stools under the awning of the bar and the closing day of diving with a well deserved cold beer.
We conclude the evening BBQ night at our restaurant, we irreverently call all the eating barn, skip, and we go to the sea food restaurant. We have a table on the decking just outside the restaurant and order a good bottle of Chardonnay, much better than the wine a bit too sweet. The food is fantastic, just like the entourage. There are only torches and oil lamps on the beach on the table and we get a small flashlight that the menu is attached to the menu to read. We eat lobster soup, cold cucumber-wasabi soup with crab, scallops and red snapper. And to top it off learn together we order the chocolate mousse with chili, a surprising combination. With an espresso after dinner we enter into a delicious dinner and a great day!

Dear Marije and Juriaan,
It remains particularly in animals that we can track how you spend the days in the holiday.
The program seems almost on your workweeks. (Getting up early is not your hobby)?
Still enjoy the beautiful diving and the warm weather. In the Netherlands it is cold.
Love, Dirk and Aly,
