On the way home

The transfer of sea to the airport just outside Manado did not go entirely smoothly. I would be at 10 am with the boat crossing to Bitung and from there directly to the car to the airport go. The whole journey was a little over 2 hours so I would take approximately 2 hours before my flight at the airport ....

At 10 o'clock, the mobile phone of my dive guide on Franky, what the driver was delayed so we did recently at 10.30 hours on the boat to move because earlier he was not in port. At 10.45 I went with my luggage on the small speedboat, which unfortunately was not as fast as the outboard refused during the crossing, which is normally 10 minutes, several times service. At 11.00 we had indeed reached the harbor but we could not spot at the pier or wharf to find a moment to explain my sloppy and 40 kilo luggage to get ashore. After much back and forth gemanouvreer we had a place and at 11.15 I was in the car.

I said, to be sure, the driver that I direct to the airport and he had smiled and nodded. Along dre driver was a very gallant riding style and each truck and bullock cart were left, so did not really get along. After 1.5 hours (now just over an hour before my flight) I suddenly recognized the street where the office of Two Fish in Manado, and there I did not have to because I had everything, including the 3 days and 7 Lembeh diving at Bunaken already paid when I went to Lembeh. My attempts to explain to my driver and ask him directly to the airport still riding fell on deaf ears. Or just the good man spoke no English .... One of the office staff members, Rifka, saw us coming, rushed outside, gave the driver a scolding and still returned the car and we headed to the airport, with a just one hour before my flight would leave. The driver's driving style also changed at a stroke .... It was left overtaken (and that meant so regularly on the sidewalk or narrowly avoiding a parked car) and roundabouts I was in the backseat hurled in all directions. Exactly 25 minutes before my flight, I got out the car and ran to the check in desk, which was already closing. The next communication I received was that the flight was full. A little negotiation and friendly smile gave me finally a free upgrade to Business Class, but I had to promise me straight to the gate to rush. Also at the gate I was the last that his baggage had to be scanned, and after I had boarded was also immediately close the door. But I was well into my spacious seat on the way to Singapore!

In Singapore I was the first vlriegtuig out, there was no line at customs and my luggage was already on the tape when I walked up. These are, among others, the benefits of flying Business Class ;-)

Sanne and Robert Jan were not yet home from work, so get an hour with July and Olle played. Then just as cozy with Sanne eating in a tent with them around the corner. Delicious after a month once a sandwich to eat, good semi-Asian tapas and drinking frozen Margaritas!

Thursday morning, nice easy going, although I after 4 weeks of tight rhythm or dive out of bed at 7.15 am, and the family who could swing from work and school. After an extensive warm (!) Shower took a taxi to baby clothes in store for Mare (daughter of Marion exactly 4 weeks old) and Tessel (the daughter of Willemijn of over half a year). For myself secretly also went to the Nine West (a wonderful shoe store) unsafe and armed with the most adorable little girls and tough-trendy clothes and 3 pairs of shoes back to Oriole Crescent. Since I still waited for an afternoon playing with July, Olle and Merle, a girlfriend of July, a bottle of cold white wine and a delicious pasta and Vivian was sitting on my vacation there really.

Another hour of waiting at the airport, 13 hour flight and then I'm back in the Netherlands. It remains a pity that I will no longer be underwater ga, but Jur see again, Blue hugging, drinking coffee at Willemijn Mare admire, agree with Sofie and Mirabel, Saturday dinner at Dekxels and next week a big birthday event for my father's birthday are also good prospects. And in between also went to a new, very nice to me, starting jobs.

Life is beautiful!
