My last day I can fully devote to fun diving, my administration for 6 courses, my theory test and packing.
We leave in the morning six of us, the core group last week but without Pim (which gives an Open Water course) and Philip, one of the best dive sites around the volcano: Pangulinan. The walls are beautifully again, the flow fairly mild and the numerous schools of fish. I shoot so much that my battery after a good half empty.
It's extremely hot today and once the boat is stationary, or rather floats, it is not on the foredeck to keep and I go to Cecilia and the guides and boat crew under the roof down. After an hour we float in the water for our 2nd dive. Again, a great wall, a few schools of fish, the most colorful nudibranches, but a strong current. Certainly at the end of the dive is not to fight against the current so we fly with the flow along and across the reef. If we overcome the flow is also clearly visible on the surface: everywhere small and large eddies and waves are visible from all sides. Very strange to have such a turbulent sea while the sky is clear blue and there is hardly any wind.
I rinse all my stuff when we get back together with my guide today, conduct risk (which last year was our guide about 2 weeks) and then lunch. If I just got my last bite is swallowed Tina get me for my theory test. And when I'm done, and successful, we need to fill out forms for 7 PADI certifications .... As Cecilia, Emma and Philip their dive to the manadrijnvissen go at 17 o'clock I start my first stuff to pack. I also in my new hut where I only 3 days is already able to make a big mess. So I did an hour needed to clean up, making a bag with stuff that I have and leave the rest to pack.
After I'm done with more or less suits I go to the bar for a well deserved beer (who incidentally only go in 750 ml bottles). Halfway through my beer out Tina and Nigel facing down with a bottle of cold white wine and 3 glasses. While the rest of the guests in their cabin or sitting on the night dives we drink the bottle of wine. Good, a few glasses of wine after 3 weeks ...
When we sit down to eat, everyone is drinking beer. All local staff is a marriage of one of them, so we have to entertain ourselves, and that works great!
At 1 day after 3 weeks I Bunaken. In summary: great diving, some nice courses done, relaxed and nice people. Lembeh tomorrow for my last 7 dives this year. And then Wednesday and Thursday to Singapore home. Everything comes to an end ...
