Unfortunately the next day that Juriaan had an ear infection (in itself we had feared that one of us would rather get it given the amount of time we have brought and underwater) and he got antibiotics.

After a few days when the worst symptoms in both were well over, we went only once in Ubud. Ubud is a town with many artists and art galleries, silversmiths, shops with the finest silk and endless cafes, bars and restaurants. It was not hard to spend a day strolling through Ubud, atmosphere to taste but every hour somewhere to sit down for a snack or a drink. But because we both still were not quite top-fit ​​we have a day trip further inland to the volcanoes and waterfalls unfortunately we missed.

On Wednesday we went from Ubud to Seminyak, a village on the north to the very touristy Kuta. We had found a design hotel that had a particularly attractive offer and it was also helpful to sit near the airport Friday morning at 7 o'clock because we were flying to Wakatobi. The hotel, the Elysian is breathtaking! There are 26 villas, each with a private pool! The villa itself is very spacious (a lovely living room, large bedroom with almost a kind of walk-in closet, a huge bathroom and a terrace with loungers on your private pool), nicely decorated and has another ipod! So on arrival we immediately set our iPod connected to the speaker and listened good music from our own pool In several books about Bali that we had found were the Hu'u bar and restaurant / bar Kudeta recommended so highly recommended as the first evening, we have to make placing Hu'u bar, a kilometer or 3 of our hotel. With a table in the pond and a live jazz singer in the background, we ate delicious and very romantic.

Juriaan had since Bunaken some insect bites (probably ants) to his feet and the sores were getting bigger and doing more and more pain. Because the next day we were going to Wakatobi that particular remote location, it seemed wise even by a doctor to look at his foot. Well that doctor pretty shocked! The infection in his foot was quite serious and after hour deal (we save you the medical procedures, but it was very painful and no fun to see) Juriaan received an antibiotic injection, antibiotic treatment for 5 days and it is very urgent advice to keep feet completely dry for at least a week and every 2 days to come back in the clinic to see the wounds and to re-connect. There we had with the scheduled departure the next morning to Wakatobi here disregarded. After a few phone calls with people from the dive resort on Wakatobi, our doctor in the Netherlands and the insurance we have to decide not to go to Wakatobi. The nearest medical help on Wakatobi was 22 hours sailing or once a private plane chartered had 3 hour flight (ie Bali) and additionally would Juriaan of the 11 days that we Wakatobi would go diving sure 7 does not water in allowed. It was a shock to the plunge because we were both very excited to Wakatobi to go, but it just was not sensible.

Because Juriaan his foot could not draw as we could not move and we are at the end of the afternoon when we were all canceled and expanded with our insurance pool had called us to lie down. We decided to at least a few days longer in this lovely hotel to stay and continue to make plans on Saturday after we had been back to the doctor. We first enjoyed an aperitif in the lounge beds by the sea and then a delicious dinner.

Saturday came the doctor with good news, the wounds looked already significantly better Juriaan and did not again return.
